Hi everyone,
Feel free to post my review on the web site if you want. Love the guitar!!
I received the Silvertone Liberator guitar today and was quite pleased. Good prompt shipping from MBG Music and thanks for the updates on shipping info. The guitar arrived in good condition and practically in tune. No flaws in the finish and everything was tight. After some minor adjustments - setting the action and intonation - it played very well. I also own the Silvertone Fastback which is an awesome playing and sounding axe. The Liberator has the most cool design. The "V" inlays were all perfect and every fret cleanly polished. I set the action fast and it played like a dream, although with some minor buzzing on the bass strings which is normal. The tones that come out of the agathis body are tight and punchy. Yes, this is a metal / shredder axe and played through a Marshall or any other type distortion, it kills. The cutaway is plenty deep for accessing the highest frets (all 24!). The PUPs produce a nice midrange and have a high output without overkill. The bridge PUP will cut like a knife while smooth sustain tones are obtained with the neck PUP. Nice sealed tuners. The guitar balances well when standing and they even put wider strap buttons on. It will also sit in a guitar stand and plays very comfortably on my lap. You won't find a hard case for this thing, although it might fit in a Flying V case. Maybe an oversize gig bag might do. Overall, the Liberator is another winning guitar from Silvertone and at this price - it's a great deal!!!
